OUR HORSES:
Our horses belong to the “Maremmano” breed; they were bred in the best “Maremmano” stud farms and we brought them as colts and fillies to our centre, which is located at about 3 km from the village of Civitella Marittima.
We have trained them ourselves and our guests have the choice of riding english or american style.

We have limited our number of horses to seven, so that they can be well looked after. We organize treks for small groups (five/six people max).
Their names are Luna, Petronio, Odalisca, Sisma, Sesto, Orchidea and Zaffiro.
They are all good natured and sure paced, but they require experienced riders as they are used to carrying out precise orders. They are riden with the typical “maremmano” harness.
We will assigne the most suitable horse to every guest so that he/she can enjoy our beautiful excursions to the full. |
The Val di Farma area, which spans a large area is rich in virgin hills and forests, where many wild animals live, such as the woolf and the otter. The Farma and Merse rivers, which run through the Regional Park, offer beautiful views, like the spectacular sight of the San Galgano Abbey and the Belagaio Castle, where the Forestry Commission graze their horses, the Montarrenti Castle, the Castiglion che Dio sol sa Castle, the Spannocchia Castle and the Pia Bridge.
We stay overnight in agriturismi or refuges in the forest.

The Castles and the Val D’Orcia is an area where history, art and the stunning landscape merge into one, with Castles like Monte Antico, Poggio alle Mura, Argiano, Ripa D’Orcia, the Rocca of Tentennano and the millenium Sant’Antimo Abbey. The Brunello di Montalcino vines and the Amiata Mountain form the backdrop to this timeless setting.
We stay overnight in agriturismi or, for people who would prefer, in Castles or historic residences.

The third area is where the Maremma cowboys, called Butteri, work. We ride among herds of wild horses and cows at the archaeological Vulci Park, with it’s historic ruins and etruscan necropolis often hidden under a luxuriant vegetation. We stay overnight in an agriturismo.

From Civitella along the Farma river to the Belagaio forest, where the Belagaio Castle and the Forestry’s horses are located. 1 day € 85,00 per person

Full-day trips along the river valley lanzo until you reach the town of Casal di Pari. Lunch at a typical inn.1 day. Cost € 95.00 per person including lunch.

In all trips and trekkings drink are not included. There is a € 15,00 single room supplement per night. There is 15% supplement in case of only 1 pertecipant.

The routes have fixed dates, but can also be programmed according to the needs of participants.
To participate in our treks require a subscription to our Association, whose cost is
